Athletic Trainer
 Dr. John Ryan, EdD, LAT, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer 
    Trainer Ryan took over as the head athletic trainer for the Red Riots during the 2011-12 school year and is a 1989 graduate of the  University of Maine, Orono with a BS in Physical Education/Athletic Training as well as a MS in Education, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership.  He also completed the requirements of a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Athletic Administration at Concordia University, Chicago.  He is accredited by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and previously spent 21 years as the head athletic trainer ay Bangor High School.  Prior to that, he was an assistant athletic trainer with the New England Patriots.
       Dr. Ryan currently serves as the Vice President of the Maine Athletic Trainers Association (MATA) and Chair of the MATA’s Secondary School Athletic Trainers Committee. He is also Chair  of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) District Nominations Committee and is the District 1 Representative for the NATA Hall of Fame Committee. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Maine Concussion Management Initiative and Member of the Maine Department of Education Concussion Policy Management Workgroup charged with helping Maine School Departments develop and implement concussion management policies. Dr. Ryan has spoken extensively across the state on Concussions and Emergency Action Planning.
